How the optional $39 maintenance year works

First year of maintenance is included. It keeps you eligible for new releases, annual tax-table refreshes, bank/export parser fixes, security and compatibility updates, Glide AI, and email support. We email you 30, 15, and 5 daysbefore that window ends. If you want another 365 days, use the in-appRenew maintenance button or renewal page and approve a separate one-time $39 Stripe payment. Your original card is not saved for a maintenance charge, no subscription is created, and doing nothing creates no charge. See refund & renewal.

Not sure yet? That’s reasonable — it’s your money. It should run on your terms, not the bank’s or some app you had to hand your login to. No rush, no expiring deal — we’ll be here whenever you’re ready.

✨ Included with every license

Glide — your in-app AI helper.

Click "Ask Glide" anywhere in the app. Get plain-English answers about retirement math, tax concepts, how to use a page, what a number means. Bundled in your annual maintenance — no separate add-on.

Doesn't see your accounts

Glide never receives your balances, transactions, or net worth — only your typed question and the page you're on. Ask "what's a Roth conversion window?" → great answer. Ask "what's my balance?" → it'll tell you it can't see and point you to the right page.

Unlimited questions

Unlimited, subject to fair-use limits that only kick in to stop abuse — normal everyday use is never blocked. Prefer to bill your own Anthropic account? Paste your API key on the in-app License page and Glide bills Anthropic directly (typically less than a dollar a month), fully unmetered on our side.

No advice, ever

Glide explains concepts. It won't tell you "buy X" or "convert Y to Roth this year" — those calls need a real financial advisor or CPA. It's planning software, not a fiduciary. Glide knows it.

Built on Claude Haiku 4.5. Runs through our Worker so your license key stays out of the browser. Renewing your annual maintenance keeps Glide active; if you skip a renewal, Glide stops while the rest of the app keeps working.

5-year cost vs the subscription tools.

Subscription apps quote you the monthly. We show the longer-term cost. Here's what you actually spend over 5 years if you stay current on each.

Prices and plan behavior as of August 2026. The basis differs by vendor and is shown in the “How that rate is quoted” column above. Subscription tools were chosen at their lowest single-user tier. GlidePath’s renewing row assumes you actively choose four one-time maintenance renewals; the never-renew row chooses none. In either case, the version you already have keeps working.

Why keep maintenance active after year one.

The version you have keeps working either way. Maintenance is for the parts of personal finance software that keep changing around you.

Tax rules keep moving

New IRS brackets, Social Security wage bases, IRMAA thresholds, ACA cliff math, Section 179 caps, and Schedule C details are folded into current builds.

Banks change exports

CSV formats, PDF statements, browser flows, and extension capture rules drift. Maintenance keeps parsers and import helpers current as those formats change.

Security and compatibility fixes

You keep getting dependency fixes, installer/update improvements, and compatibility work as Windows, browsers, and libraries evolve.

New features during your window

When we improve the daily loop, trust checks, import review, reporting, or planning surfaces, active maintenance gets those releases without re-buying the app.

Glide AI and cloud helpers

Online extras that cost us money to operate stay active while maintenance is current: Glide AI and related cloud helpers.

Real support when you need it

If an import gets weird, a release confuses antivirus, or you need help understanding where something lives, maintenance keeps email support available.

Skip a year and your install keeps running with the tax rules, parsers, and features it had on the day you stopped paying. Future major versions may be offered as optional paid upgrades, but your financial files stay yours either way.

FAQ

What happens if I do not renew maintenance?

Your install keeps working with the version you already have. You just stop receiving new app releases, updated tax rules, parser fixes, security and compatibility updates, and new features. Online extras included with maintenance, like Glide AI, pause, and product support pauses too — billing, licensing, and renewal questions are answered either way. The version you had on your last paid day keeps working. Your data is plain files on your disk; nothing locks you out of your own records.

How to renew: click "Renew maintenance" inside the app or use the link in a reminder email. We remind you 30, 15, and 5 days before the window ends. You approve a fresh one-time $39 Stripe payment each year; there is no automatic charge to opt out of.

What's the 30-day refund?

Buy GlidePath Money, install it, decide within 30 days you don't want it → email us for a full refund. The refund is processed through Stripe, which handles our checkout. We'll deactivate the license on our side; since the app re-checks its license about once a week, within about a week it stops opening — but the data files you've created are yours to keep on your disk. We never delete your data.

Why a desktop license?

Local-first applies to commerce too. You own your data; your financial files should not depend on an active subscription. GlidePath is a desktop license with maintenance for updates, support, and online extras. Future major versions may be offered as optional paid upgrades, but letting maintenance lapse never locks you out of the version you already have or the data files you created.

How many devices can I install on?

Personal: 3 device installs. Personal+Business:6 device installs. Each install is a full copy of the app on a separate computer. If you need to move to a new computer, you can deactivate an old install from inside the app to free a slot.

Do you have access to my data?

Your core financial file stays on your computer by default. Your accounts, balances, and transactions are stored as plain files in the app’s data folder; we don’t upload or host them. On Windows, the default is%LocalAppData%/GlidePath Money/. Optional cloud features — license activation, AI, and market-symbol lookup — are described on thePrivacy and Trust pages.

Why not connect to my bank like Mint did?

Two reasons. First: the intake path is more useful when you can see the source, preview the rows, and keep the accepted result in your local file. Second: Plaid-style bank-sync services can break when banks change their UIs, leaving you with stale data. We give you non-Plaid intake paths instead: bring CSV, tab-delimited, .xlsx, or supported PDF files to the Import page; let the optional Downloads watcher surface recognized CSV and .xlsxexports; or use the browser extension to auto-capture supported downloads from your bank's site. PDFs are uploaded or extension-captured — the Downloads watcher does not watch them.

Will the price go up later?

Maybe. The $129 / $199 starting prices are what we believe the app is honestly worth in 2026. If GlidePath grows into a larger major version later, new-customer pricing may change. Your existing license won't change. The version you bought keeps working. Active maintenance keeps you current on eligible updates. If we ever introduce a paid major-version upgrade, we’ll publish the price and terms clearly before anyone is asked to pay.
